The I-40 Interstate 40 Highway is
a major
automotive & trucking transportation
corridor and interstate highway that travels generally in a east-west direction
across a large part of the southern-middle United States.The i-40 connects a
number of larger cities located along it's route, including;
Albuquerque,
Amarillo,
Greensboro,
Knoxville,
Little Rock,
Memphis,
Nashville,
Oklahoma City,
Raleigh,
and
Winston-Salem, to name a
few.
From it's eastern side, the i-40 starts near the
Wilmington NC area approx. 6
miles (as the Crow flies) from the Atlantic Ocean ... travelling in generally a
west direction along the length of the i-40, the interstate highway ends near
the Barstow CA area .
The entire length of the I-40 is approx. 2,555 miles long (4,112 km.) and
requires a continuous driving time of approx. 42 hrs. and 58 minutes to complete
- when averaging 60 miles per hour.
